WATCH: Schwarzenegger Makes ‘The View’ Furious, Refuses To Criticize Trump Deportations

“You are an immigrant, you’re an immigrant in this country. Did you have a visceral reaction to what they’re doing, what ICE is doing when you see the videos of it?” co-host Joy Behar inquired of the “Terminator” star.

Rather than denouncing President Trump and ICE, Schwarzenegger took the opportunity to commend the United States for the opportunities it has afforded him. “Well, I tell you, you mentioned the immigrant, I am incredibly proud and grateful that I was welcomed by the American people in such a way. I mean, consider that I arrived here at the age of 21, with absolutely nothing, and then managed to build a career like that. I mean, in no other country in the world could you achieve that,” he stated.

“Everything, whether it’s my bodybuilding career, my acting career, becoming governor, and the wonderful family I have built, is all because of America. That’s a fact. And this is why I am so delighted to witness firsthand that this is the greatest country in the world and the land of opportunity.”

In a clear rebuttal to the framing of the question, Schwarzenegger emphasized that immigration to the United States must occur in an orderly and legal manner. “But the key point is that we must also ensure that things are done legally. That is crucial, you know,” he remarked.

“So, it is essential to do things legally. Those individuals who engage in illegal activities in America, particularly foreigners, are not acting wisely. Because when you come to America, you are a guest and must conduct yourself as such,” the former governor elaborated. “For instance, when I visit someone’s home as a guest, I make every effort to keep things tidy, make my bed, and do everything that is appropriate, rather than committing a crime or being abusive.

The Trump Administration has swiftly escalated interior deportations in recent weeks following directives from White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, who instructed agency leaders to significantly boost deportation figures earlier this month. The president has declared that immigration enforcement operations will be substantially intensified in deep blue strongholds such as Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, where groups have recently attacked and obstructed federal agents.

Additionally, President Trump has retracted his earlier suggestion that he would permit federal agents to create exemptions for businesses within the agricultural and hospitality sectors. After previously signaling that such exemptions would be possible, agency heads were notified on Monday morning that there will be “no exemptions” for any business that employs illegal aliens.
