Boulder Attack Fallout: Jewish Congressman Demands Deportation of Suspect’s Relatives

In the aftermath of the recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, Representative Randy Fine (R-FL), one of the few Jewish Republicans in Congress, has urged the federal government to deport the family members of the suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman. Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national, is accused of carrying out a firebomb attack during a peaceful pro-Israel demonstration, injuring eight individuals.

Rep. Fine emphasized the need for Congress to allocate funds to facilitate the deportation of Soliman’s relatives, stating, “We must ensure that those who harbor or support terrorist activities are not allowed to remain in our country.” He also called for increased protection of religious groups on college campuses, highlighting the rise in antisemitic incidents nationwide.

The attack, which occurred during a demonstration advocating for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas, has intensified debates over U.S. immigration policies. Soliman had entered the United States on a tourist visa in 2022 and overstayed his permitted duration. He is currently facing multiple state felonies and a federal hate crime charge.

The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are actively investigating the incident. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the U.S. will “aggressively deport any visa holders who exhibit anti-American values.”

This event has prompted a broader discussion on the intersection of immigration enforcement and national security, with lawmakers and officials examining current policies to prevent similar incidents in the future.
