Chase Chrisley Tells All: How He Received the News of His Parents’ Pardon by Trump!

Following President Donald Trump’s announcement of his intention to pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley, known for their reality show “Chrisley Knows Best,” their children, Chase and Savannah Chrisley, have expressed their profound gratitude.

Chase Chrisley, 28, stated exclusively to The Post, “I am grateful to God and extremely grateful to President Trump and his entire administration. I’m beyond thankful to finally have my parents back home and my family together again!”

Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022 and are currently serving their respective prison sentences. They were accused of submitting fraudulent documents to secure over $30 million in loans. Todd Chrisley, 56, received a 12-year sentence, while Julie Chrisley, 52, was sentenced to seven years.

President Trump informed their daughter Savannah, 27, on Tuesday, May 27, of his plans to issue a pardon as early as Wednesday. During a phone call from the Oval Office, President Trump told Savannah, “Your parents are going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow.” He added, “I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them well. Wish them a good life.”

A video of the phone call was shared by White House communications advisor Margo Martin, with the caption “Trump Knows Best,” referencing the Chrisleys’ reality show.

Todd Chrisley began his sentence at FPC Pensacola in Florida in January 2023, while Julie Chrisley is serving her sentence at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Savannah Chrisley, who received the call from President Trump while at a Sam’s Club, expressed overwhelming emotion and thanked the president for the upcoming pardons in an Instagram post, saying, “We are freaking out over here. I have shed so many tears. Both of my parents are coming home tonight or tomorrow, and I still don’t believe it’s real. I’m freaking out.”

Savannah Chrisley has been outspoken about her parents’ legal battle and has publicly supported President Trump. She even spoke about their case at the Republican National Convention in July and criticized the prosecutors involved.

In anticipation of their parents’ return, Savannah Chrisley mentioned that the family was “getting some clothes together for Mom and Dad” and preparing their room. “We’re getting their room together upstairs, and I’m just speechless,” she added. “My parents get to start their lives over.”

The Chrisley family attorney, Alex Little, shared his perspective on President Trump’s decision with Page Six, stating that it “corrects a deep injustice and restores two devoted parents to their family and community.” He further commented, “President Trump recognized what we’ve argued from the beginning: Todd and Julie were targeted because of their conservative values and high profile. Their prosecution was tainted by multiple constitutional violations and political bias. Todd and Julie’s case is exactly why the pardon power exists. Thanks to President Trump, the Chrisley family can now begin healing and rebuilding their lives.”

The Chrisleys’ younger son, Grayson, 19, was also on the call with President Trump when he announced the pardon. President Trump told the siblings, “Just congratulate your parents – I hear they are terrific people. This should not have happened.”

The news of the planned pardon comes after Todd Chrisley’s attorney, Jay Surgent, expressed concerns late last year about Julie Chrisley’s health and welfare following the upholding of her initial 84-month sentence at a resentencing hearing.
